Thought-provoking indeed. Peterson gives us insight into how you need to pay attention to what you are thinking. After all, you are not a victim, you are resilient. So what is this sage advice? Simply put, 'start stopping today - don't waste time.'
In the usual Peterson spirit, he does quote the scripture. This time it's Romans 6:23. "For the wages of sin is death (but the free fit of God is eternal life the Christ Jesus our Lord)."
This brings us a bit of grounding to the fact that this is not a new idea - a simple reminder of what is.
